Job Description Reports To: Operations Control Manager Location: Calgary, Palmer Hangar Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week The big picture: The Training & Standards Specialist plays a key role in supporting operational readiness through the development and delivery of training programs, operational manuals, procedures, and learning systems for the Operations Control Team. Working closely with the Quality & Standards Manager and Operations Control Manager, the Specialist helps ensure training, resources, and processes remain accurate, effective, compliant, and aligned with operational standards. In this role you will: Maintain and update Operations Control manuals and training materials to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency. Maintain a robust working knowledge of Operations Control roles and procedures to ensure training materials and manuals remain current and accurately reflect day-to-day operational requirements. Administer and maintain learning management systems (LMS) such as Tovuti, including course setup, content management, and system administration. Deliver and support onboarding and recurrent training for Operations Control personnel. Provide training related to procedural updates, recent systems, and regulatory requirements to support operational consistency and standardization. Collaborate with the Quality & Standards Manager to ensure training content reflects current operational standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for procedural improvements and provide recommendations to the Quality & Standards Manager. Work with the Operations Control Manager to align training delivery with operational requirements, team schedules, and staffing requirements. Maintain training records and documentation to support audits and compliance reviews. Support continuous improvement initiatives by gathering feedback on training effectiveness and recommending updates to materials, systems, and delivery methods. Contribute to a culture of learning, compliance, and standardization within the Operations Control Team. Perform additional duties and support departmental initiatives as assigned by the Operations Control Manager. To be successful in this role, you will have: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in aviation operations, flight coordination, or training support. Working knowledge of Transport Canada regulations and standards. Experience maintaining operational manuals, training materials, or learning management systems. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Restricted Operator Certificate (ROC-A). If the incumbent does not obtain this certification, it will be included in their training.
