Stantec’s Geospatial Services Group has a full‑time prospect for Survey Crew Chief based in Calgary, Alberta. Key Responsibilities Perform a variety of surveys and buried facility locating with minimal supervision. Conduct comprehensive topographic, legal, construction, bathymetric and as‑built surveys. Actively participate and promote Stantec’s Health & Safety culture and awareness. Communicate progress updates, scope changes, HSSE reporting, and other project impacts to the Project Manager. Act as a company representative, liaising directly with client field representatives and land owners. Perform some office technical survey work as required. Apply strong problem‑solving skills in a field environment. Manage information flow from field to office and prepare accurate, concise field notes, records, and calculations. Capabilities and Credentials Experience tracing buried facilities using electromagnetic locating techniques. Ability to execute surveys accurately, efficiently, safely, and in detail. Proficiency with GPS, Total Stations, and Electromagnetic Locators. Working knowledge of Trimble GPS and Trimble Total Stations is an asset. A valid Alberta Class 5 Vehicle Operator’s License. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Travel to various sites across Canada may be required. Experience working in remote field environments. Physical ability to work in mountainous and forested terrain and lift/carry heavy equipment. Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, wildlife‑populated areas, and remote field areas for extended periods and varied hours. Education and Experience Technical degree, diploma, certificate, or equivalent in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years of field survey experience. Required certifications: Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, WHMIS, CSTS 2020, CSO, Line Locating Certification, Valid Driver’s License.
