Substitute Teacher Grade Alberta

Wihnemne School, a K-9 school on the Paul First Nationis looking for Substitute Teachers dedicated to providing a quality instruction and education to students in the absence of the regular teacher or on occasion where the teacher is required to work one on one with a student (assessments for example) and requires extra support. Substitute Teachers are expected to: maintain a safe and healthy learning setting for the students promote continued learning follow lesson plans created by the teacher if necessary, create his/her own lesson plansin accordance with the Alberta Education Programs of Study and the absent teachers unit plans and/or long range plans. ensure that the classroom is running smoothly transparent, concise communication with the absent teacher adhere to the same roles and responsibilitiesas any other classroom teacher as defined by the Education Actand the Teaching Profession Act. Additional responsibilities may include: preparing educational materials marking assignments or classwork assigning classwork and homework recess or lunch supervision duties Attendance of cultural events attendance and/or supervision during field trips Qualifications/Requirements: Valid Alberta Teaching certification (required) Transparent Criminal Records Check, to include the Vulnerable Sector Check Child Intervention Check completed by Child and Family Services Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: Strong instruction and classroom management skills Solid communication and organizational skills Personal integrity and trustworthiness Ability to establish trust and rapport with students Competency working with computers and other technologies to support student learning Respect and value all individuals with sensitivity to diversity Please send resume and letter of Intent to Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2oq9py
