Description The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach ENDG 319 (Probability, Statistics and Machine Learning) in the Summer 2026 term. The course will be delivered in‑person. Course Description Presentation and description of data, introduction to probability theory, Bayes' theorem, discrete and continuous probability distributions, estimation, sampling distributions, tests of hypotheses on means, variances and proportions; introduction to fundamental machine learning including linear regression, classification and correlation. Applications are chosen from engineering practice from all disciplines. Course Schedule Lecture: Monday, Wednesday, Fridays 04:00 - 05:55 pm Tutorial: Tuesday, Thursdays 04:00 - 05:15 pm Qualifications Candidates must have a graduate degree in Engineering and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to this course. Experience teaching undergraduate students in an engineering program will be viewed as an asset. Applicants should be comfortable teaching in person.
