Interim Controller For E Commerce Firm Alberta

Join our client as an Interim Controller in Calgary on a 6-month contract. This pivotal role involves assembling the accounting function and designing finance processes from ground up. The successful candidate will stabilize the accounting function following an acquisition while managing a high-volume e-commerce workplace. You will evaluate and implement accounting systems, oversee monthly closings, and ensure compliance with SEC financial reporting. Collaboration with multiple stakeholders in tech stack design and finance processes will be key to your success. Key Responsibilities: • Build and stabilize the accounting function post-acquisition • Design chart of accounts and core finance processes • Implement the accounting system for high-volume transactions • Own monthly close and quarterly SEC reporting • Manage AP/AR for Shopify-based e-commerce model Requirements: • 7–10+ years of finance/accounting experience • Startup or ground-up build experience required • Solid systems implementation skills • Familiarity with US GAAP and SEC reporting preferred • E-commerce or Shopify experience an asset Bring your accounting expertise and systems knowledge to drive success for our client.
