ABOUT THE ROLE TransAlta is looking for a highly skilled Executive Assistant to support our EVP, Growth & Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, you’ll act as a trusted partner to a senior leader, helping keep priorities aligned and days running smoothly. This is a trusted partner role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, executive environment and brings strong judgement, organization, and discretion to everything they do. This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our Head Office in Downtown Calgary. A DAY IN THE LIFE Prepare, edit, and format internal correspondence, memos, reports, and presentations, ensuring executive communications and deliverables are accurate, transparent, and professionally presented Prepare, organize, and coordinate board and senior leadership materials with a high degree of attention to detail and confidentiality Assist with budget preparation, tracking, and updates, including invoice processing and financial administration support Track key commitments and priorities while effectively managing calendars, bring‑forward files, and inboxes Coordinate travel planning and coordination of work events such as networking dinners Support the executive and broader team by monitoring timelines and ensuring deadlines are met and work remains on schedule Assist with meeting preparation, including agenda development, note‑taking/minutes, and timely distribution of materials and follow‑ups Plan and execute business unit events, meetings, and offsites, including coordination and event budget management Conduct research and compile information, liaise with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the executive, and support the coordination and implementation of administrative policies and processes Maintain ownership of group SharePoint sites and materials, ensuring information is current, organized, and accessible ABOUT YOU Minimum 5 years of administrative assistant experience in an executive support role Business Office Administration Certificate, Diploma, or similar Well‑developed organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple demands and work within tight deadlines Self‑motivated with the ability to work with others effectively in a team Exceptional organisation and communication skills Ability to thrive independently while collaborating in a proactive, high‑energy environment Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from employees to executives Tech‑savvy and adaptable with solid skills in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint, SAP and calendar management Strong ability to assess organisational needs, understand the history of the organization and adapt to and manage change THE PERKS Competitive salary Annual and long‑term incentives available for select roles Company‑matching pension plan Flexible health benefits for you and your family Generous vacation and personal days Learning and development programs Employee recognition and rewards Annual wellness allowance Explore our Careers site to see how we support your growth and wellbeing: .
