Lead Breakfast Server (Calgary) (Alberta)

We are hiring a Lead Breakfast Server at The Element by Westin Calgary Downtown. Key Accountabilities Always provide the highest quality of service to guests and associates, leading by example. Train, maintain and enforce all service standards. Maintain a safe and sanitary work workplace for all associates and guests. Report unsafe conditions to manager. Ensure department is fully staffed and able to handle volume of business. Understand and teach empowerment principles to ensure guest satisfaction. Listen and provide support to team members, ensuring associate satisfaction and retention. Greet guests as they enter, consistently delivering exceptional service. Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive guest service to restaurant guests, staff and culinary production team. Be very familiar with all breakfast food and beverage items. Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Perform opening and closing procedures, including setup and breakdown of stations, clearing and re‑setting up tables, etc. Maintain and ensure overall cleanliness of the breakfast area. Endeavor to work in a unified and collaborative way that fosters teamwork. Follow all safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions. Have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures. Practice safety standards at all times, leading by example. Qualifications Experienced professional with previous experience in a Lead or Supervisory role in a coffee shop or hotel restaurant setting. Hospitality or Tourism program graduate or degree holder. Outstanding work ethic, reliability, punctuality, approachable demeanor, strong commitment to safety. Priority on providing guests with the best possible experiences, going above and beyond to ensure total satisfaction and loyalty. Excellent communication skills. Able to work well under pressure, multitask, and enjoy a quick‑paced environment. Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, prefers to work as part of a team. Knowledge of food handling, food safety, and basic math skills. Valid ProServe certification. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
