Registered Architect – Calgary, Alberta (Hybrid) Wood is recruiting a Registered Architect to join our multidisciplinary engineering team in Calgary. The position is hybrid, offering a balance of office and on‑site work, and provides the opportunity to advance toward Qualified Engineer registration. Responsibilities Lead architectural design for industrial projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and client requirements. Manage project discipline budget, schedule, progress and change control. Prepare man‑hour estimates and execution plans for proposals. Supervise, direct and authenticate work of architect interns. Develop architectural design and analysis to meet applicable codes and standards. Perform building‑code analysis of industrial buildings, including Oil & Gas projects. Prepare technical reports and calculation packages as project deliverables. Collaborate with designers to produce design deliverables and review documents prior to issuance for scope and presentation against project specifications. Authenticate architectural deliverables. Interface with other disciplines, project management, and global workshare teams to execute the Project Plan. Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Wood and its clients. Conduct field reviews at project work sites. Qualifications Legally able to work in Canada. Registered Architect with the Alberta Association of Architects. Minimum 10 years of EPC experience in structural design. Broad experience with building design in Oil & Gas projects. In‑depth knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada (Alberta Edition). Proficiency in building component modeling and 2D drafting. Field construction support experience. Ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently and effectively. Strong technical writing skills and experience preparing correspondence and technical reports. Effective verbal communicator with presentation, facilitation and listening skills. Capability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team environment. Willingness to travel and accept short‑term field assignments. Motivated by collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Passion for mentoring and coaching less experienced team members.
