Architectural Technologist / Architectural Drafter Location: Calgary, AB Site: Hybrid / Onsite Please note that all employees must be local to Calgary or be Alberta Based Experience Level: Intermediate to Senior (3+ years) Our client is seeking an Architectural Technologist / Drafter to support the design and technical documentation of commercial retail and service-based developments across Alberta. This role focuses heavily on Revit-based production, permit documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination within a quick-paced commercial architecture environment. Ideal Candidate Profile The successful candidate will be a technically solid Revit production technologist with experience supporting commercial architecture projects in Alberta and working closely with structural, mechanical, and civil consultants. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technologist who enjoys fast-paced commercial work and producing high‑quality construction documentation. Key Responsibilities Architectural Production & Documentation Produce detailed architectural drawings and construction documentation using Revit from concept through IFC stages Prepare Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP) drawing packages for commercial projects Develop full drawing sets including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules Maintain accurate and coordinated BIM models throughout the project lifecycle Commercial Project Support Assist project architects and project managers in delivering commercial and retail developments Automotive service and oil‑change facilities Small commercial retail developments Coordinate design revisions based on client requirements, municipal feedback, and consultant input Consultant Coordination Coordinate architectural models and drawing sets with structural, mechanical, and civil consultants Assist with clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination within Revit models Review consultant drawings and integrate updates into architectural documentation Code & Permit Compliance Apply a strong understanding of the Alberta Building Code (ABC) and relevant municipal bylaws Support building code analysis and zoning review for commercial developments Prepare documentation required for municipal approvals and permit submissions Construction Phase Support Assist with RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and construction documentation updates Participate in coordination meetings with project teams and consultants Support project teams during construction to maintain drawing accuracy and compliance Required Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of architectural technologist or architectural drafting experience Strong proficiency in Revit (Senior to Advanced level required), AutoCAD experience considered an asset Strong understanding of Alberta Building Code, particularly commercial applications Experience preparing permit and construction documentation Strong commercial architectural project exposure Required Project Experience Gas stations / fuel stations Automotive service facilities Convenience stores Quick‑service restaurants Retail plazas or commercial tenant improvements Preferred Technical Exposure Experience working with or coordinating drawings related to structural systems Experience working with or coordinating drawings related to mechanical systems Experience working with or coordinating drawings related to piping systems Experience working with or coordinating drawings related to site service and commercial infrastructure Exposure to multidisciplinary coordination in these areas is highly valued Key Competencies Strong Revit production capability Excellent technical detailing and documentation skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Solid communication and coordination skills with consultants and internal teams Detail‑oriented with a strong understanding of commercial construction workflows #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pfsto
