About the Role Reporting directly to the Manager, Accounting, the Accounting Coordinator will assist in the overall preparation and processing of all Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) accounting. This includes managing accounts payable and receivable functions, maintaining robust accounting controls, ensuring accurate data entry, and reconciling reports for timely financial, regulatory, and Board reporting. Your Focus in this Role Preparation and processing of EOCF invoices, payables, receivables and expense reports, including maintaining accurate General Ledger postings and reviewing entries. Maintaining day‑to‑day accounting processes such as posting journal entries and preparing general ledger reconciliations (e.g., bank reconciliations). Supporting the preparation of weekly cash flows. Ensuring accounting controls by supporting Finance Department policies and procedures. Preparing and filing GST and income tax information returns. Assisting in reconciling foundation fund accounting, including posting inter‑fund transfer entries. Providing inputs to the annual budget processes as needed. Assisting with the annual financial statement audit, including preparation and review of audit working papers. Supporting the reconciliation of online and venue 50/50 sales. Assisting in reconciling accounting systems to the Raiser’s Edge database, ensuring accurate recording of donations. Creating reports on revenues and donations to support monthly reporting metrics. Supporting the annual tax receipting process. Supporting regulatory reporting requirements with AGLC, including amendments, use of proceeds, annual reports and license applications. Preparing and reconciling events, merchandise sales and auctions. Performing other administrative accounting tasks as required. Who You Are Positive and customer‑centric. Education, Experience and Skills Diploma or Degree in Accounting; in lieu of formal education, relevant experience may be considered. 1–3 years of accounting experience or a related field. Experience with computerized accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Solver) and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage large transaction volumes while maintaining high attention to detail. Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
