Your Opportunity Interested in applying your research and evaluation skills to improve patient outcomes and experiences in cancer care? Do you have experience in applied research, evaluation, or implementation science and are looking to build your skills from within the healthcare system? Cancer Care Alberta (CCA) is seeking a Research Associate to join the Supportive Care Services and Patient Experience team. The Research Associate will contribute to a provincial, multidisciplinary portfolio of applied research and evaluation initiatives aligned with operational priorities across the cancer care continuum, and will work collaboratively with clinical teams, operational leaders, researchers, patients, and partners. Description The Research Associate provides research, coordination, and support for applied research, evaluation, and implementation science projects. Working under the direction of the Scientific Lead, this role contributes to study design, qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis and synthesis, knowledge translation, and reporting, and supports the research‑to‑practice pipeline by ensuring findings inform service improvement and decision‑making. Key Responsibilities Support the planning and execution of applied research, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives aligned with Supportive Care Services and Patient Experience and CCA priorities. Lead or support qualitative and quantitative evaluation activities, including data collection, data management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting. Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, and evidence syntheses to inform operational and clinical decision‑making. Contribute to evaluation frameworks, indicators, and performance measurement activities. Support knowledge translation and implementation activities, including preparation of manuscripts, reports, presentations, summaries, and learning materials for diverse audiences. Support research ethics submissions, study documentation, and adherence to ethical, privacy, and governance requirements. Collaborate with key stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, operational leaders, researchers, and patient partners. Provide project coordination support, including tracking timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements. Participate in continuous improvement activities and contribute to a culture of learning, innovation, and evidence‑informed practice. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Science, Epidemiology/Public Health, Community Health Sciences, Psychology, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience with qualitative and quantitative research in a healthcare setting. Preferred Qualifications PhD in a related field desirable. Expertise in cancer care, patient experience, or clinical environments a valued asset. Location & Compensation Primary Location: Arthur Child Cancer Centre.
