Job Description The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on recent challenges, and advance their careers within the organization. The Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer will be called upon to manage a portfolio of multidisciplinary projects and electrical studies. The role requires working independently, building key business relationships in the local industrial sector, and may involve travel outside of the office to industrial sites around Western Canada on an ad hoc basis. This position could be based in our Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Saskatoon offices. Primary responsibilities Take part in all stages of projects Develop technical solutions Produce drawings and specifications Produce equipment specifications Coordinate among stakeholders Lead other electrical engineers that assist on projects Provide technical support for various clients Analyze proposals and issue recommendations for procurement Participate in site surveys Engage with existing and potential customers to bring new projects to CIMA+ Qualifications University diploma in Electrical Engineering Registered (or eligible to register as) member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EBGC) or a recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada (P.Eng preferred) Minimum of 12+ years of experience in heavy industry In-depth knowledge of issues related to industrial production Available to work outside of the office on an occasional basis Nice to Have (Technical knowledge) In depth knowledge of engineering consulting best practices for project management and project execution Power system modelling including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash Grounding studies and grounding design Protection relay and VFD parameter settings Power distribution equipment sizing, specification, and procurement Instrumentation and field wiring of control systems 2D drafting in AutoCAD Calculations including cable pull, heat trace, volt drop, cable sizing Formal technical reviews such as HAZOP Prepare project proposals/bids Estimate electrical equipment and labour costs Constructability planning The expected salary for this position is based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity.
