Responsibilities Tasks - Requisition food and kitchen supplies - Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances - Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food - Recruit and hire staff - Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory - Create new recipes - Analyze operating costs and other data - Leading/instructing individuals - Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants - Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards - Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks - Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs - Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions - Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff - Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets - Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food - Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff - Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions - Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods - Estimate labour costs - Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses - Cook Trade Certification - Cook Red Seal Certificate - Safe Food Handling certificate - Food Safety Certificate - First Aid Certificate Experience and specialization Specialization or experience - Specialized environmental skills and knowledge Additional information Security and safety - Bondable - Criminal record check Transportation/travel information - Own transportation - Public transportation is available Work conditions and physical capabilities - Attention to detail - Quick-paced environment - Physically demanding - Bending, crouching, kneeling Personal suitability - Dependability - Excellent oral communication - Flexibility - Initiative - Organized - Reliability - Team player - Efficient interpersonal skills - Leadership Benefits Health benefits - Health care plan Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2p5p9j
