Senior Accountant, Real Estate Financial Operations Play an key part in leveraging the real estate portfolio through sound accounting and financial reporting practices to ensure maximum value for our clients. You will be responsible for the financial reporting for a foreign real estate portfolio totaling over $8.5 billion and contribute to special projects focused on driving efficiencies across the team. Responsibilities Preparation of year‑end consolidated financial statements, working papers and reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner. Ownership of a portfolio of properties: loading data, validating uploads, preparing consolidation working papers from detailed property‑level financial data, and answering financial statement audit queries. Preparation of quarterly fund market value updates, entry and validation of loan terms and amortization. Leadership of the annual budget process for a portfolio of properties. Research and preparation of accounting policy papers supporting reporting standards and accounting treatment for transactions. Participation in onboarding new investments, system setup, roll‑up and cascading rule design in the Yardi real estate management system, and development of reporting requirements with property managers and asset managers. Acting as the accounting point of contact for external property and asset managers. Our Ideal Candidate Completion of CPA designation. 5+ years of experience, ideally with exposure to real estate. Prior experience with Yardi Asset Management Software is preferred. Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections, draw conclusions and make recommendations based on information presented. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration.
