Superintendent – Telecommunications (6‑12Month Contract) We are looking for an experienced Superintendent based in Fort McMurray, AB, with expertise in telecommunications and/or utility construction. In this role you will manage day‑to‑day field operations to ensure that fibre‑to‑the‑premise projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high safety and quality standards. You will work directly with contractors to deliver telecom services and lead the field team. Essential Responsibilities Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project. Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance with Ledcor HS&E; standards, applicable OH&S;/OSHA Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors. Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications and design drawings while maintaining high quality standards. Conducts site meetings with the City for road‑occupancy permits and with locators to confirm correct marking areas. Manages material quantities and ensures the proper equipment and trades are available as required. Assumes a leadership role, provides guidance to the field team, and supervises sub‑contractors to achieve all required deliverables. Qualifications 2‑5+ years of telecom or utility construction experience. Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures applicable to common construction processes. Robust understanding of current construction practices and various pieces of construction equipment (directional drills, vac trucks, road‑cut saws, etc.). Proven facilitation, mentoring, coaching and conflict‑resolution skills; ability to motivate and build consensus with partners. Experience guiding safe work practices in a high‑pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule and budget. Solid knowledge of construction documents (utility plans and maps), contracts, costs and budgets. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, interpreting their needs and proposing solutions. Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook. Clean driver’s abstract. Successful completion of pre‑employment drug and alcohol requirements. Working Conditions Position is 6 to 12months in length. Travel to various sites is required. Work is performed outdoors under various weather conditions.
