Description
Acerta Energy Ltd. is a Calgary-based oil and gas company focused on the acquisition, optimization, and development of producing assets in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Acerta is led by a proven management team with deep technical and operational expertise and a track record of building and scaling successful oil and gas businesses, both organically and through mergers and acquisitions, in Western Canada and internationally. Acerta is committed to the highest standards of environmental stewardship, safety, and stakeholder engagement across all operating areas. Acerta is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support our payroll function on a part‑time or contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing using ADP, along with maintaining compliance with all applicable federal and provincial regulations. As we transition into a recent payroll setup, hours may be higher initially during implementation and onboarding, and will then reduce to a more ongoing, maintenance‑based schedule. Key Responsibilities Full‑cycle payroll processing using ADP. Ensure accurate and timely payroll runs (hourly and salaried employees). Maintain employee payroll records and updates. Manage deductions, benefits, and statutory remittances with ADP. Respond to payroll‑related employee inquiries. Ensure compliance with Alberta and federal employment and payroll legislation. Assist with year‑end reporting (T4s, summaries, reconciliations). Collaborate with HR and accounting as required. Requirements Minimum 5+ years of payroll experience. Strong hands‑on experience with ADP payroll systems. Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation (Alberta preferred). Experience with full‑cycle payroll processing. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and basic accounting principles. Experience in the energy, or oil & gas sector is an asset. PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification or equivalent. Hours & Flexibility Part‑time or contract position. Hours will vary depending on payroll implementation needs. Higher hours expected during initial setup and transition period. Ongoing hours will decrease once payroll is stabilized. Flexibility is required to support peak payroll cycles and deadlines. Benefits Flexible schedule Work Location Hybrid remote in Calgary, AB #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pl4mc
