PRISMA Research Associate (Edmonton) (Alberta)

Position: Research Associate in the Precision Medicine in Autism (PRISMA) group at the University of Alberta, reporting to the Principal Investigator. The appointment is for an initial 3‑year term, full‑time Academic Trust position. Eligibility: This position is open to all applicants. Location: Hybrid with a mix of remote and in‑person work at North Campus Edmonton. Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic plans for research activities in consultation with the PI. Design studies, including research methodologies, data collection protocols and standards. Contribute to the planning and development of future research initiatives. Identify and communicate funding opportunities to the PRISMA team. Lead and coordinate the preparation and submission of grant applications, including timelines and task delegation. Serve as a co‑applicant on research funding applications, when applicable. Oversee and manage research projects, including ethics approvals, recruitment, data collection and data analysis, in collaboration with the PI. Monitor project budgets and administrative requirements. Ensure compliance with granting agency requirements and University of Alberta policies and procedures, including ethics. Provide regular updates on research progress to the PI. Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, reports and presentations for scientific conferences and other dissemination activities. Provide guidance, coaching and supervision to students and junior team members under the direction of the PI. Support a collaborative and productive research team environment. Perform related research administration and coordination duties at a managerial level in support of the PI. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in a research field, preferably in psychiatry and/or genetics. Demonstrated track record of peer‑reviewed publications. Strong working knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time‑management skills. Proven ability to work effectively and provide leadership within a team workplace. Preferred Qualifications Ability to communicate fluently in additional languages besides English. Clinical background in medicine or an allied health discipline. Compensation and Advantages Annual salary range: $80,772 to $90,876. The appointment is governed by ScheduleE of the Collective Agreement between the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta.
