Financial Accountant role provides an opportunity to apply accounting expertise, analytical thinking, and continuous improvement to Accounting Operations. You will support key financial processes, deliver accurate reporting, and collaborate with Finance and business partners to enhance service and drive better outcomes. Major Responsibilities Complete all accounting and month‑end processes for assigned areas (e.g., journal entries, monthly accruals, allocations) Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the areas of accountability Liaise with business partners and finance departments as required Assist in creation and distribution of period‑end and ad‑hoc reports and schedules Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance service to internal and external customers Unique Accountabilities Payroll Shared Services Allocation model Debt Reconciliation Corporate Cost Department Pension Statement Core Systems & Processes Relevant to this role Workday, Maximo, Adaptive Insights, Power Plan Informal leadership within the team by sharing expertise Active team participation Proposal of process, approach, and technique changes Education Required University degree with 4 years of related experience or college diploma in business or commerce Six years of progressive accounting‑related experience and enrollment in an advanced professional program Combination of education and experience may be considered where appropriate Qualifications Advanced spreadsheet skills are required Expert knowledge of accounting concepts and financial reporting requirements Excellent leadership, organization, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to work with diverse people and levels within ENMAX Ability to work independently while maintaining accurate reporting and meeting deadlines, with awareness of client business and operating environment Competencies Positive attitude with willingness to learn and take initiative Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Values ENMAX values: Safety, Integrity, Accountability, Service, Teamwork, Agility, Innovation. Advantages and Compensation Salary: Accountant C (CUPE 2025 hourly rates) Rates: $94,190.82 – $100,082.71 – $105,974.60 – $111,846.64 – $117,738.53 Location: Hybrid (home and office) workforce with office space at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). Remote work on Mondays and Fridays; office on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
