Overview Corporate Finance team within Canadian Commercial Banking, part of BMO Financial Group. Covers public and large private corporate clients operating in diversified industries. Responsible for marketing, managing, and monitoring large commercial loan portfolios, and supporting credit requirements and cross‑selling for other business lines. Job Overview Associate Director supports growth and risk‑management objectives of the portfolio. Works closely with Managing Director and/or Director. Responsibilities Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for new and existing commercial banking loans. Make credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies and procedures while maintaining exceptional client service. Negotiate loan structures and terms that align client requirements with the bank's risk appetite and policies. Assess client repayment capacity using financial models and recommend appropriate loan structures and collateral requirements. Sign off on new, renewal, and extension loans within delegated authority. Monitor portfolio to identify deteriorating credit conditions and develop corrective action plans. Evaluate portfolio performance and recommend capital allocation strategies to optimize returns. Lead proposal development and deliver presentations to capture new business and expand client relationships. Network with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices. Develop and execute business development plans focused on enhancing client relationships and growth opportunities. Build and maintain client relationships in collaboration with Relationship Managers and business partners. Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments for assigned portfolio to provide actionable insights. Minimize risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines. Serve as point of contact for service requests and ensure expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Escalate issues and support initiatives to enhance service quality and client relationships. Identify revenue and cross‑selling opportunities and share‑of‑wallet opportunities. Leverage analysis tools to nurture a portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds and evaluate client returns proactively. Manage timely and accurate data entry into BMO's systems and use data to support decision‑making. Qualifications Preferred 5–7 years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking setting. Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred. Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience. Foundational proficiency: structuring deals, problem solving, collaboration, detail‑oriented. Advanced proficiency: customer service, loan structuring, regulatory compliance, portfolio management, credit risk assessment, banking operations, Microsoft Office. Expert proficiency: financial analysis. Salary $69,000.00 – $129,000.00 (Salaried). Salary varies by location, skills, experience, education, and qualification.
