Sessional Instructor – EDPS 693.09 – Trauma and Resilience in Children, Graduate Programs, Werklund School of Education, Fall 2026 Position Type: Term Certain The Werklund School of Education, Graduate Programs, at the University of Calgary invites applications for a term‑certain Sessional Instructor position for the Fall 2026 term in Educational Psychology. Sessional instructors will teach online and on‑campus graduate courses that are integral parts of the graduate programs in the Werklund School of Education. The term runs from August 24 to December 18, 2026. Delivery of the course will be online. EDPS 693.09 – Trauma and Resilience in Children . Delivery: Online. This course expands students’ knowledge base of the impact of trauma on children, examining how trauma affects brain development and learning and exploring the educational implications for traumatized children. Topics include the neurobiology of trauma, strength‑based interventions, building school‑community partnerships, and resiliency factors. Position Requirements Educational Psychology comprises educational studies in counseling psychology and in school and applied child psychology. A completed doctorate in psychology or a related field, registration as a psychologist. Evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in workplace, university, or school settings. Demonstrated experience in online or distance education for courses delivered online or in a blended format. Capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture. Knowledge and understanding of the programs and specializations in Educational Psychology will be considered an asset.
