Elementary PE Specialist Teacher (Temporary) Location: Trinity Christian School Anticipated Start Date: August 21, 2026 Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027 (or return of incumbent) Assignment: Elem PE Specialist Teacher FTE: 0.5 Temporary Trinity Christian School invites motivated educators to apply for a Temporary, Part‑time Elementary PE specialist teaching assignment starting August 21, 2026. Benefits Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) coverage (as per collective agreement) Responsibilities Establish clear objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of Alberta Education, and communicate these objectives to students. Prepare for assigned classes, demonstrate written evidence of preparation upon request, and prepare materials for learning. Instruct using a variety of instructional approaches appropriate for grade level and student needs. Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. Assign lessons and correct homework. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Prepare, administer, and grade a variety of student evaluative tools such as projects, tests, and assignments to evaluate students' progress. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct student records as required. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order and safety, under the guidance of the Principal. Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress, and confer with parents or guardians. Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required. Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs. Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help. Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials. Provide special needs students with assistive devices, supportive technology, and assistance in accessing facilities. Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, experiential activities, and guide students in learning from such activities. Use computers, multimedia, and other equipment to support learning. Organize and supervise recreational and other activities to promote physical, mental, and social development. Sponsor extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests. Perform supervisory duties such as hall, cafeteria, playground monitoring, and bus loading/unloading. Plan assignments for Education Assistants, Special Education, and other classroom support staff as appropriate, and assist the Principal in supervision and evaluation. Perform other related tasks as appropriate, including organizing materials and displaying students' work. Experience & Qualifications Alberta Teaching Certificate. Previous experience administering elementary school curriculum. Valid Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector). Skills And Competencies Confidence, skill, knowledge and understanding of differentiated instruction, student engagement, and assessment practices. Strong work ethic.
