Description
Registered Dietitian St. Catharines, Ontario Salary Range: $40.00 per hour to $45.00 per hour Status: Permanent Part time Vacancy Southbridge, the owner and operator of several long‑term care homes and retirement communities in Ontario, is currently seeking a Registered Dietitian to join a dynamic food and nutrition department. The role involves ensuring residents receive nutritious, delicious meals that are prepared and served with care. Responsibilities - Consult with and advise the Food Service Manager and Director of Care on nutrition and hydration program needs as part of the Clinical Team. - Conduct nutritional assessments for each resident using RAI MDS 2.0 as required. - Determine individualized diets and other nutritional interventions for residents, involving family members and the care team. - Develop, implement, and evaluate nutritional care plans, identifying concerns, goals, and interventions for all residents. - Maintain excellent communication with the Food Service Manager regarding residents’ changing needs. - Review the two seasonal menus for nutritional adequacy and provide written approval. - Educate residents, family members, and team members on nutrition and hydration recommendations. - Represent Southbridge on the Interdisciplinary Team and in regional and professional activities as appropriate. - Participate in interdisciplinary committees related to resident care, facility operation, and quality indicators. Qualifications - Registered Dietitian, eligible for membership with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. - Extensive knowledge of geriatric nutrition. - 3–5 years’ experience in a long‑term care setting preferred. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, and RAI MDS 2.0; familiarity with PointClickCare is an asset. - Excellent organizational, time‑management, and multi‑tasking skills. - Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles, and legislation. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Customer‑focused attitude with demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective team relationships with staff and residents. - Negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of hire date. - Completion of a 2‑step TB skin test within the last 12 months.
