Mechanical Engineer | Hydraulics & Lubrication Systems (Heavy Industrial) Location: St. Catharines, ON (Niagara Region) Job Type: Full time | Permanent For engineers who’d rather be on the plant floor than behind a desk—this is where your work actually comes to life. This role is built for someone who doesn’t just design systems—but wants to see them run, troubleshoot them under pressure, and make them better in real‑world conditions. The Role This is a full lifecycle engineering role—from concept and design through to assembly support, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field start‑up. You’ll work primarily on lubrication and hydraulic systems, collaborating closely with internal teams and customers to deliver tailored, high‑performance solutions. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Design - Design and develop hydraulic and lubrication systems for heavy industrial applications - Prepare drawings, schematics, system layouts, and bills of materials - Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements Project Collaboration - Work cross‑functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams - Support project planning, timelines, and deliverables Field Work & Commissioning - Support assembly and manufacturing processes - Perform system start‑ups, commissioning, and troubleshooting - Deliver customer training and technical support Documentation & Compliance - Develop and maintain technical documentation and manuals - Ensure compliance with applicable standards and safety regulations Ideal Candidate Profile Experience & Education - 3+ years of experience in heavy industrial environments (steel or similar industries preferred) - Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology - Experience with hydraulics, lubrication systems, or fluid power Skills & Attributes - Working knowledge of electrical instrumentation (asset) - Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills - Detail‑oriented with a solid desire to understand system performance Travel Requirements - Ability and willingness to travel frequently within Canada, the United States, and South America - Travel may be required on short notice depending on project needs - Comfortable working in diverse, international environments Additional Assets - Spanish or Portuguese language skills - Experience with commissioning, start‑ups, or field service What’s in It for You - Join a stable, well‑established industrial organization - Work alongside a collaborative, experienced engineering team - Gain exposure to international projects and field work - Receive paid onboarding and product training - Opportunities for long‑term growth and development Compensation & Benefits - Base salary: $80,000 – $100,000 (commensurate with experience) - Competitive health perks - Group RRSP plan Location This role is based in St. Catharines, Ontario, within the Niagara Region.
