Mechanical Technologist/Designer (St. Catharines)

Title: Mechanical Technologist/Designer Location: St. Catharines, ON Type: Permanent, Full time Salary: $50-70K + Benefits We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technologist with a strong background in heavy industrial environments (steel or large scale manufacturing) to join our client, a well established leader in high-performance industrial equipment. This role is based in St. Catharines and offers the opportunity to work on advanced systems across North and South America. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop solutions aligned with client requirements. - Prepare detailed mechanical layouts, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings. - Develop and maintain technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, and manuals. - Standardize and compile project documentation for consistency and service ability. - Provide technical support to manufacturing and maintenance teams. - Track project timelines and ensure deliverables are met. - Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. - Stay current with industry trends and support continuous improvement. - Obtain relevant certifications and maintain product knowledge. - Support additional engineering tasks as required. Qualifications: - Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field. - Experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments. - Strong understanding of mechanical design and drafting standards. - Exposure to hydraulics, piping, jigs, and fixtures is an asset. - Willingness to travel within North and South America. - Flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed.
