WordPress Developer / Programmer (St. Catharines)

Position Title 180 Marketing is looking for a WordPress Developer / Programmer with minimum 3 years of experience to provide maternity leave coverage. This role is ideal for someone with custom WordPress development experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment. About the Role You’ll help build, maintain, troubleshoot, and launch custom WordPress websites. We do not use purchased themes or page builders. Our websites are custom developed from designer files, with a focus on performance, SEO, user experience, security, and flexibility. Responsibilities Build custom WordPress websites from design files Create custom themes, custom post types, and custom Gutenberg blocks Work with ACF, WP_Query, WooCommerce, and responsive design Launch websites from staging to live Complete website updates, maintenance, troubleshooting, and backups Manage hosting tasks, SSL renewals, and website security Support Mailchimp email campaigns Build custom HTML/MJML email templates Set up and manage website integrations such as Google Analytics, Search Console, Maps API, Microsoft Clarity, schema markup, and Looker Studio Prepare monthly analytics reports Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years of WordPress development experience Knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery Experience with custom WordPress development Familiarity with ACF, Gutenberg blocks, WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, WPML, Wordfence, WP Engine, and common WordPress plugins Comfortable using Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, FTP tools, and a code editor of your choice Strong troubleshooting skills High attention to detail Able to manage multiple projects and quick turnarounds Willing to learn current skills Collaborate with designers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into user‑centric solutions, designing and developing full‑stack features (front‑end and back‑end) Build and optimize mobile‑first, responsive web applications Our Development Approach We build fully custom WordPress websites.
