We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance operations, improve equipment reliability, and support production performance in a quick-paced industrial environment. This role is ideal for a strong leader with experience managing industrial maintenance teams within manufacturing, steel fabrication, heavy industrial, or production environments. Position Summary As the Maintenance Manager, you will oversee all plant maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment reliability, facility maintenance, and maintenance personnel leadership. You will play a key role in maximizing uptime, reducing equipment failures, improving maintenance systems, and driving operational efficiency across the facility. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with leadership, planning, and continuous improvement capabilities. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership - Lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate maintenance technicians, millwrights, electricians, and support staff - Build a high-performance maintenance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and safety - Schedule work assignments and coordinate maintenance coverage across multiple shifts - Support employee development through coaching, training, cross-training, and performance management - Participate in hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning for the maintenance department - Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety meetings, and departmental communication sessions - Promote a proactive maintenance mindset and continuous improvement culture Maintenance Operations - Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs - Oversee corrective maintenance activities, equipment troubleshooting, and emergency repairs - Ensure maximum equipment uptime and production reliability across all manufacturing operations - Coordinate closely with production teams to minimize downtime and operational disruptions - Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for process optimization and reliability improvements - Maintain accurate maintenance records, downtime tracking, and service documentation - Ensure all plant equipment, machinery, cranes, welding equipment, conveyors, compressors, and facility systems operate safely and efficiently - Lead root cause analysis investigations for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions - Establish maintenance KPIs including downtime, PM compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs Planning & Scheduling - Plan, prioritize, and manage maintenance work orders using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) - Coordinate internal maintenance schedules with production and operations teams - Manage shutdowns, planned outages, and major repair projects - Coordinate vendors, contractors, and external service providers for specialized maintenance services - Manage maintenance inventory, spare parts, and critical equipment components - Ensure timely procurement of maintenance materials and services - Schedule inspections, certifications, and regulatory compliance activities Technical Expertise - Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues - Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support to maintenance personnel - Ensure proper use of maintenance tools, equipment, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices - Support equipment upgrades, installations, commissioning, and capital improvement projects - Collaborate with engineering and production teams on process improvements and equipment modifications - Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and maintenance reliability strategies - Assist in developing equipment standards and maintenance procedures Safety & Compliance - Ensure full compliance with all workplace safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards - Champion a strong safety culture through training, audits, inspections, and hazard mitigation - Ensure compliance with OSHA / MOL regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, confined space protocols, and machine guarding requirements - Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation - Maintain compliance records related to equipment inspections and maintenance activities Qualifications - Postsecondary education in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, or related field preferred - Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Electrician, or equivalent trade certification considered an asset - 5–10+ years of maintenance experience within manufacturing, steel fabrication, heavy industrial, or production environments - Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing maintenance teams - Strong understanding of industrial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems - Experience using CMMS software for maintenance planning and tracking - Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies - Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills - Experience with overhead cranes, welding equipment, CNC machinery, conveyors, or structural steel equipment is an asset - Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities - Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage competing priorities Preferred Qualifications - Experience implementing TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) - Experience managing maintenance budgets and capital projects - Familiarity with automation systems, PLC troubleshooting, and industrial controls - COR, ISO, or other safety/compliance experience considered an asset -
