Steers Insurance Limited has an immediate opening in our St. John’s office for a Commercial Account Manager within our Commercial Contracting and Surety Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of supporting a small dynamic team and a book of commercial business in a fast-paced, insurance office environment. Our minimum expectations for the successful candidate include a high-level working knowledge of MS Excel and Word, an active interest in learning, a keen eye for detail, and an understanding of the importance of doing your work to a high standard of practice. Duties include: - This is a client-facing role. - You will be expected to take over and maintain a Commercial book of business including becoming involved with establishing and building relationships with commercial clients as well as maintaining those relationships through regular interactions with clients. - Review and renew commercial lines accounts including all aspects of account attraction, retention, collection and processing review on your book of business. - Review all renewals ensuring that appropriate coverage is effected and that all changes to the client operations have been noted and addressed in their coverage. - Complete client submissions professionally and market to underwriters through Policy Works. - Maintaining thorough documentation of all contact with clients. - Implementing & maintaining service and administrative protocols as required by management. - This is an in-office position. While preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience and who are currently licensed by the province of NL to work in our industry, these are not required. Any applicant selected will be guided, trained and supported while getting the required licensing. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
