Process Safety Engineer St John's (St. John's)

We are seeking a Process Safety Engineer for a 6‑month temporary term (with potential extension) in St. John’s, to support risk assessments, incident investigations, and process safety compliance within our offshore operations. The ideal candidate holds an Engineering degree, 5+ years’ oil & gas experience, and expertise in HAZOP, regulatory standards, and safety‑critical systems. Responsibilities Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identification studies (HAZID, HAZOP) Provide Process Safety support for Baseline PHA Revalidations Update and maintain Process Safety Processes Trend and analyze Process Safety Metrics Classify Process Safety Events Lead or participate in Incident Investigations Requirements Required Qualifications: Degree in Engineering and Skilled Engineering designation (or equivalent career experience) Minimum 5 years of related experience in the petrochemical/oil & gas industry, with preferred experience in fixed/floating production systems, topsides facilities, and offshore operations support Demonstrated knowledge of Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements Ability to facilitate Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) Basic understanding of production system processes Knowledge of Environmental, Safety, and Loss Prevention processes and best practices Familiarity with the Newfoundland Offshore Regulatory environment Skills/Knowledge/Attributes: Strong written communication skills with a focus on clarity and conciseness Effective work prioritization and time management Proficiency in MS Office Experience with SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (preferred) This is an excellent prospect for a skilled Process Safety Engineer to contribute to a dynamic team.
