Mechanical Engineer for Arctic Operations (St. John's)

Be a key contributor at Nasittuq Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer, supporting CFS Alert's essential infrastructure. Your expertise in mechanical systems will play a significant role in operational excellence. In this position located in Ottawa, ON, with travel to CFS Alert, you'll provide comprehensive engineering services for mechanical building systems. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will focus on HVAC, piping, fire protection, and electrical systems. Your role includes developing engineering designs, conducting project close-outs, and ensuring that maintenance protocols are met to optimize system performance. Key Responsibilities: - Provide engineering services for HVAC, fire protection, and piping systems - Prepare complete engineering designs for design review meetings - Conduct project close-out activities following approved plans - Collaborate with AutoCAD technicians and engineering teams - Periodically travel to CFS Alert for inspections and coordination Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering - Skilled Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Canada preferred - Experience with fire protection and power generation systems - Strong knowledge of Canadian codes and standards - Ability to obtain Reliability Status Security Clearance Your mechanical expertise will support mission-critical infrastructure in the challenging Arctic setting.
