This key role is ideal for someone who brings strong industry knowledge, takes ownership of processes, and enjoys leading and mentoring a team. Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight&Operations
Manage day‑to‑day accounting functions, including cash receipts, deposits, and reporting Oversee full‑cycle Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong cash flow management Review and approve billing for freight, warehousing, fuel, and contractor‑related chargesMonitor customer accounts, portals, and collections to ensure timely payment Contractor Settlements&Operational Accounting
Oversee weekly contractor pay and reconciliations, ensuring accurate rates, deductions (e.g., fuel), and supporting documentation Partner with dispatch and operations to ensure alignment between trips, billing, and financial records Provide oversight on high‑volume transactional processing and reconciliation activitiesFuel, Fleet&Industry‑Specific Reporting
Lead fuel reconciliation across multiple vendors, including cost allocation and reporting by unit/driver Oversee IFTA reporting, quarterly filings, and compliance requirements Ensure accurate tracking of operational costs and support reporting for decision‑making Month‑End&Compliance
Perform and review bank and credit card reconciliations Oversee GL coding, expense allocations, and financial data integrity Support audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and annual reporting (e.g., WCB) Leadership&Team Development
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to administrative and accounting staff Review team output for accuracy, prioritise workflows, and ensure deadlines are met Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of team members Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and internal controlsQualifications
5+ years of progressive accounting and office administration experience, ideally within transportation, logistics, or a related industry Demonstrated supervisory experience with a hands‑on, mentorship‑driven leadership style Solid understanding of full‑cycle accounting, including contractor settlements and high‑volume transactionsExperience with fuel tracking, IFTA reporting, or fleet accounting is highly preferred Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and experience with TruckMate would be an assetIf you have previous suitable experience and are looking for a fast‑paced and challenging opportunity, please submit your resume TODAY.
