Job Description Wood is currently accepting applications for a part‑time Junior Maintenance Engineering Assistant to work in our St. John’s office.
The Junior Maintenance Engineering Assistant will join the maintAI team responsible for managing and implementing a maintenance improvement plan for the Hibernia Platform. The team focuses on ensuring maintenance is efficient and effective by reducing operational costs while maintaining equipment reliability. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly motivated, and has excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Providing daily support to the maintAI team, which is comprised of engineers and other technical professionals
Assisting with planning and job readiness for maintAI execution, including material and equipment requirements
Working with discipline engineers to develop maintenance improvement recommendations and other engineering deliverables
Assisting with budget development and cost estimates
Assisting with development and review of schedules/plans
Supporting tracking of project readiness through offshore execution to closeout
Coordinating closeout activities
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a University Engineering co‑op program (Mechanical preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Excellent technical writing skill
Offshore, Oil and Gas knowledge preferred
Team‑focused attitude with commitment to quality
Innovative problem‑solving mindset
Strong safety orientation
Strong relationship management and communication skills
Ability to interact with multidisciplinary personnel in engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors and client representatives on project‑related topics
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple and conflicting priorities effectively
Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
