Junior Sous Chef / Line Cook (Signal Hill)

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety. This position requires a strong background in the food industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Duties - Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. - Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient operations. - Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met consistently. - Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. - Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menu items that align with restaurant goals. - Monitor food presentation and quality to ensure consistency and excellence. - Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff assignments. - Handle any customer inquiries or complaints regarding food quality or service. Skills - Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food service management. - Proficiency in food safety practices and regulations. - Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team. - Experience in restaurant management is highly desirable. - Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. - Solid communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and front-of-house staff. - A passion for hospitality and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
