We value team members who bring care, initiative, and pride to their work. Job Overview: We are seeking a dependable, enthusiastic Lead Cook to join our team at Camp Kintail. In this role, you will help prepare meals and snacks, assist with special diets, and support the Kitchen Manager in creating delicious, memorable experiences for our campers and guests. The position requires a strong work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a cooperative kitchen team. This role is in person and includes weekday and weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Kitchen Manager in the preparation of all meals and snacks. - Prepare and care for special diets, including vegetarian, vegan, allergies, gluten-free, lactose-free, and halal options as required. - Maintain the service in accordance with all laws, ordinances, regulations, and rules of the local health unit and the standards of safety and health established by Camp Kintail. - Follow adequate standards of cleanliness and sanitation in food handling, food storage, and food service. - Ensure that all kitchen dishes are washed after each meal. - Work closely with the Kitchen Manager and Executive Director in creating theme meals. - Work closely with the Kitchen Manager and Executive Director in the preparation of food supplies for all Outdoor Adventure camps. - Attend regular staff meetings. - Perform all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Kitchen Manager with generosity and team spirit. - Participate fully as a staff member and by word and deed encourage a faithful Christian witness. Qualifications: - Interest in food service and preparation. - An education in culinary arts or relevant experience in culinary management. - A current SAFE Food Handler certificate. - A willingness to work in a team environment. - Flexibility and a sense of fun! - A personal living faith. - Standard First Aid with CPR “C”. Compensation & Terms: - Salary offered will be dependent on qualifications and experience. - The Camp Kintail kitchen runs seven days a week, three meals a day. This position would be for five days a week, with days off dependent on the schedule. This includes working both weekday and weekends based on group bookings. - Work in a dynamic environment serving summer camps, adult groups, weddings, and more.
