Process Engineering Supervisor– Johnson Electric
Location: Stratford, ON (Onsite) Department: Engineering– Automation&Assembly Salary Range: $105,000 - 120,000 annually Vacancy Type: Existing Position Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of new production automation cells and equipment projects. Manage all aspects of automation project execution, including planning, resourcing, procurement, installation, and commissioning. Provide full supervisory leadership for direct reports in alignment with company and departmental policies.Ensure compliance with all Quality, Environmental, Health&Safety standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. Drive internal customer satisfaction through strong launch support and continuous improvement initiatives. Coach and mentor engineering team members to achieve manufacturing and business objectives. Manage capital acquisition projects, including vendor selection and supplier management.Implement and document Automotive Operating Systems such as APQP, PPAP, and QOS. Ensure equipment modifications include appropriate safety and ergonomic safeguards. Support CAD‑based tool and fixture design in collaboration with tooling teams. Lead debugging, run‑off, and implementation of automation and assembly equipment.Support Quality Engineering in PPAP development and Run‑at‑Rate performance testing. Provide technical guidance to Johnson Electric facilities related to automation, tooling performance, and cost‑reduction opportunities. Drive regional continuous improvement initiatives aligned with annual CI targets.Perform additional duties as required to support engineering and manufacturing objectives. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field. 5–10+ years of hands‑on experience in automated assembly process development. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Technical expertise in: PLCs and programmable logic, robotics and vision systems, automated handling systems (AGVs, AVI, air‑proofing, etc.), electro‑mechanical systems, and proficiency with FMEA and GD&T. Strong understanding of automotive quality systems and requirements (IATF16949 / ISO9001). Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict‑management, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to synthesize and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences. High level of integrity, dependability, and results orientation.Benefits
