Job Details Description Job Summary Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the Retail Associate Lead will provide an exceptional experience to all guests of Stirling Sands Winery while supporting the day-to-day leadership of the retail operation. This frontline leadership role involves delivering elevated guest service, supporting retail associates, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring the merchandise area is organized, stocked, and presented to the highest standard. The Retail Associate Lead will act as a key point of contact for retail operations and assist in maintaining a seamless guest experience. Roles And Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Manager on Duty, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Retail Leadership & Operations - Provide leadership and support to Retail Associates, fostering a positive, guest-focused environment. - Act as a point of contact for retail operations during shifts and support the Manager on Duty in maintaining operational standards. - Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences. - Assist with onboarding and training of new Retail Associates, ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures. - Support daily opening and closing procedures of the retail store, ensuring accuracy and accountability. - Monitor merchandise presentation and ensure displays are visually appealing, organized, and fully stocked. - Identify opportunities to improve retail sales and guest engagement through product knowledge and recommendations. - Address guest concerns or issues professionally and escalate when appropriate. Guest Experience & Retail - Provide excellent customer service to all guests of the Stirling Sands merchandise area. - Welcome guests to the store by actively seeking them out and asking open-ended questions to determine their needs. - Demonstrate extensive knowledge of all products under the Blyth Brewing & Distilling Inc. brands by describing benefits and features of products. - Support wine, beer, merchandise, and promotional product sales through product recommendations and upselling opportunities. - Process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently. - Manage cash flow, additional payment methods, and inventory counts when Opening and Closing the Stirling Sands store. - Stock beer fridge, replenish merchandise, and put away retail and beverage orders. - Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the retail environment. - Collaborate with Front of House and Hospitality teams to ensure a seamless guest experience across the property. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications And Requirements - Smart Serve Certification or ability to acquire Smart Serve Certification before commencing employment. - Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience required, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred. - Demonstrated experience in a retail or guest service environment with a strong focus on customer experience. - Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong customer service disposition, and the ability to communicate effectively in the English language. - Ability to work well under pressure with strong multitasking skills, maintaining a sense of urgency and momentum. - Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and support team members. - Ability to build rapport with guests by creating an informative and pleasant guest experience. - A strong attention to detail. - Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. - Demonstrated experience working with computers and/or tablets and demonstrated experience handling cash. - Experience working with a POS system (preferred). - Ability to work a adaptable schedule including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Working Conditions - Position may require long periods of standing and walking. - Required to work in a busy, open area which may result in constant interruptions. - Required to spend long hours concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy. - Heavy lifting is required for putting large orders away and retrieving stock. - Potential to work outside of normal business hours.
