Job Title: Design Assistant / Intern Company: Nicolas Garden Art Inc. Reports to: Mike Prong, Director of Sales and Design Compensation: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour Position Type: Part-time Role Overview Nicolas Garden Art Inc. is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Design Assistant or Intern to join our team. Reporting directly to Mike Prong, Director of Sales and Design, you will work side-by-side with leadership to bring high-end landscape and pool projects from concept to completion. This role offers a unique balance of creative office work and hands-on field experience. Key Responsibilities - Work directly alongside the Director of Sales and Design to develop and refine project concepts. - Conduct site visits to assist with accurate measurements, site analysis, and photography. - Translate field notes and measurements into detailed 2D and 3D design renderings. - Support the sales process by preparing client presentation materials and project documentation. - Assist with material selection and coordinating design details to ensure high-quality execution. Qualifications - 1–2 years of experience in landscape design, architecture, or a related field (internship experience included). - Experience or comfort working in the field, including taking site measurements and navigating active project sites. - Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar). - Strong visual communication skills and a high level of accuracy in technical drawings. - A team-oriented attitude and a desire to learn the business of high-end landscape design. - Must have reliable transportation for travel to various job sites.
