About The Women’s Rural Resource Centre is seeking a Part time Child & Youth Worker to support trauma-informed programming for children and youth impacted by gender-based violence. Working closely with WRRC’s Direct Care and Shelter Teams, this role focuses on direct support, advocacy, caregiver engagement, and community connection in both shelter and community settings. Key responsibilities Support programming for children and youth impacted by gender-based violence Provide individual and group support using trauma-informed approaches Assist with intake, referrals, and caregiver support Help deliver group programming for children, youth, and caregivers Build relationships with community partners and support advocacy efforts Maintain accurate documentation and follow reporting protocols Contribute to a cooperative and supportive team environment Preferred qualifications Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field 1–3 years of experience working with children and youth Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, child development, and gender-based violence Experience in advocacy, systems navigation, and community-based support Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Requirements Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and adequate insurance Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check CPR and First Aid Availability for a versatile part-time schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends Position details Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week Work takes place in office, shelter, and community-based settings Additional summer hours may be available based on program needs and employee availability How to apply Please submit your resume and cover letter by June 2, 2026.
