Join Meridian Lightweight Technologies as our Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist and play a key role in shaping a world-class safety and environmental management program across our facilities. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead Workplace Safety Initiatives - Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and programs - Conduct workplace safety audits, hazard assessments, PPE audits, and compliance inspections - Investigate incidents, analyze safety trends, and drive corrective actions - Manage WSIB activities and employee Return-to-Work programs - Support new equipment and process launches with safety reviews and pre-start assessments Drive Compliance & Continuous Improvement - Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, and ISO 14001 standards - Assist with environmental management systems (EMS), risk evaluations, and corrective action programs - Maintain ISO 14001 documentation and support ongoing certification requirements - Create action plans to address non-conformances and improve environmental performance Champion Training & Employee Engagement - Develop engaging training materials and facilitate employee learning initiatives - Support Joint Health & Safety Committee activities, meetings, communications, and follow-ups - Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, coaching, and collaboration Support Environmental Excellence - Monitor environmental objectives, targets, and performance metrics - Support EMS internal auditors and maintain documented environmental records - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainability and compliance initiatives WHAT YOU BRING - Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety legislation and environmental standards - Experience with audits, incident investigations, and compliance management - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization - Experience with ISO 14001 and environmental management systems is an asset - Passion for continuous improvement, training, and workplace safety culture Other Assets - 1-5 years’ experience in die casting Machining environments - Health & Safety Skilled designation ( i.e. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and/or Canadian Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) Why Join Meridian Lightweight Technologies?
