Manufacturing Associate I, Strathroy

Job Overview Production Associate– responsible for fabrication, supermarket, and assembly operations at KML Windows Inc., a division of Andersen Corporation.

Responsibilities

Work safely and follow company safety practices and policies.

Help ensure co‑workers work safely and adhere to safety requirements.

Follow all applicable procedures, Standardized Work, Control Plans, and Product Specifications.

Interpret customer requirements based on production paperwork and CAD drawings.

Assemble wooden products.

Assist in identifying training needs and propose ideas to improve quality metrics.

Learn and apply Andersen Management Systems (AMS) and continuous improvement concepts.

Participate in defining and improving standard work.

Support Employee Engagement activities.

Work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and Standardized Work.

Follow defined clean‑up times.

Engage in cross‑training to maintain flexibility and adaptability to support resource planning.

Operate manufacturing equipment and use hand tools as required.

Identify problems and communicate issues to Work Center Leads and Supervisors.

Assist with training co‑workers.

Support a respectful workplace.

Perform other duties across the plant as directed by supervision or management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Sense of urgency to complete work on schedule.

Proven ability to understand and adhere to all process controls as documented (SWDs, JBAs, CPs).

Ability to read and understand reports and willingness to cross‑train on several operations.

Strong communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.

Dependability and punctuality.

Ability to interpret drawings and dimensions.

Positive attitude and ability to interact effectively with other departments.

Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, perform tasks requiring repetitive motion, and stand for long periods.

Ability to read a tape measure.

Schedule 1 opening– afternoon shifts (Monday – Thursday, 10‑hour shifts, 4:00 pm – 2:30 am).

Salary Mfg Associate I ($23.40 – $25.24 per hour) + 6% afternoon shift premium when applicable.
