Smithville Home Hardware Building Centre is a growing and progressive building materials supplier serving Niagara and surrounding markets. We are expanding our contractor and project business and are looking for a motivated, relationship-driven sales professional to help grow our market share throughout Niagara and targeted expansion markets including the GTA. This is not a traditional account maintenance role. We are looking for a true business development professional — someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities, and winning new contractor business. About the Role The Contractor Sales & Business Development Representative will focus primarily on developing new contractor relationships and growing project-based sales within residential construction and renovation markets. This individual will actively pursue: - New home builders - Renovation contractors - Deck builders - Rural and cottage market contractors - Small to mid-sized general contractors The successful candidate will work closely with our estimating and operations teams to provide competitive project solutions and outstanding customer support. Key Responsibilities - Identify and develop new contractor relationships - Prospect and generate new business opportunities throughout Niagara and targeted expansion markets - Conduct job site visits and contractor meetings - Follow up on quotes, projects, and sales opportunities - Develop long-term contractor partnerships - Promote full project solutions including lumber, engineered wood products, trusses, windows, doors, siding, and related building materials - Maintain regular pipeline and sales activity reporting - Collaborate with estimating and inside sales teams to support project execution - Grow annual sales volume and market share What We Are Looking For - Proven experience in sales, business development, or contractor relationship management - Building materials or construction industry experience considered a solid asset - Self-motivated and highly competitive personality - Solid communication and relationship-building skills - Comfortable working independently in the field - Ability to manage multiple projects and follow-up activities - Understanding of residential construction and blueprint reading considered an asset - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Compensation Structure This role includes: Base salary - Tiered uncapped commission structure - Ongoing commissions on developed contractor accounts - Performance-based earning potential exceeding six figures for high performers Why Join Smithville Home Hardware Building Centre?
