Composite Design Engineer (Cape Breton Island)

Job Title: Composite Design Engineer (NX) Contract Length: Initial 3 Months Location: UK – Onsite Sector: High Performance Motorsport / Advanced Engineering Start: Immediate / Short Notice Preferred Overview XQ Technical are supporting a high-performance engineering organisation within the motorsport sector that is seeking an experienced Composite Design Engineer to support a busy and technically demanding programme. This is an initial three-month contract assignment, focused on supporting the design and development of complex composite components within a fast-paced engineering environment. The successful candidate will be working on highly detailed structural and performance-critical parts, requiring strong CAD capability and a solid understanding of composite design methodologies. The position would suit someone comfortable operating within a rapid development cycle, where designs move quickly from concept through to manufacture. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop complex composite components using Siemens NX - Work closely with stress, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and structurally robust - Produce detailed 3D models and 2D drawings to a high engineering standard - Support ongoing design updates, iterations, and problem-solving throughout the programme lifecycle - Ensure components meet performance, weight, and manufacturing requirements Key Requirements - Proven experience as a Composite Design Engineer within motorsport or high-performance engineering - Robust capability using Siemens NX - Experience designing complex composite structures and components - Good understanding of composite materials, laminate strategies, and manufacturing processes - Ability to work quickly and accurately within a fast-paced development environment - Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams Contract Details - Initial 3-month project - Opportunity to work on technically challenging motorsport programmes - Immediate start preferred If this position could be of interest, please apply or contact XQ Technical directly for further information.
