Senior Mechanical Engineer (Oldcastle)

Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to serve as a technical lead within our engineering organization. This role is accountable for delivering high-quality, manufacturable mechanical designs in support of machine tool and automation programs. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure engineering rigor, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet performance, cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Key Responsibilities - Lead the development and review of mechanical designs, including 3D models, detailed drawings, and assemblies using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. - Ensure design solutions meet customer requirements, internal quality standards, and manufacturing expectations. - Provide Engineering deliverables, including layouts, detailed drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs). - Drive material and component selection to optimize performance, reliability, and cost. - Partner with manufacturing, assembly, and project teams to maintain design intent through execution. - Provide technical direction, mentorship, and design governance to support best practices and continuous improvement. Qualifications & Experience - Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. - 12+ years of mechanical design experience within automation or machine tool environments. - Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. - Strong knowledge of drafting standards, engineering best practices, and quality-driven design processes. - Demonstrated ability to lead complex design efforts with minimal supervision. - Willingness to travel within Canada and the United States as required. - Experience with automotive powertrain systems, FEA, and GD&T; is a robust asset.
