Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned, well-rounded Construction Lead Hand to join our team. This is a position for a professional who can take charge in office, work entirely unsupervised, and ensure projects stay on track. We are looking for a trusted individual with a solid work ethic who takes pride in their craft and is looking for a long-term home. Key Responsibilities - Unsupervised Execution: You must be a self-starter capable of reading plans and managing the daily workflow from start to finish without constant direction. - Expert Carpentry & Operation: High-level proficiency in carpentry (framing to finishing) and competent operation of site machinery (skid steers, excavators, etc.). - Site Leadership: Coordinate tasks, solve problems on the fly, and ensure the crew maintains a high standard of quality and pace. - Safety & Integrity: Maintain a safe site and act as a reliable representative of the company at all times. What We Require - Solid Work Ethic: We need someone who shows up, works hard, and leads by example. This is not a general labour role; it requires a high level of dedication. - Trustworthiness: As you will be working unsupervised, honesty and reliability are non-negotiable. - Proven Experience: Significant years in the trades with a deep background in both carpentry and heavy equipment. - Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to handle site challenges independently rather than waiting for instructions. - Physically fit: To be able to lift heavy objects on a consistent basis (75 lbs or more at times).
