Senior Mold Designer/ Surfacer (Oldcastle)

Job Description: We are seeking experienced Mold Designers as well as a dedicated advanced feasibility designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing plastic injection mold designs from 3D part models, ensuring all tooling meets customer standards, and supporting production through detailed documentation and collaboration with toolmakers. Preference towards experience with Cimatron. We currently utilize VISI as our primary design software, and also welcome designers who are interested in working with Cimatron. Whether you already have experience with Cimatron or are looking to learn a new system, we are open to supporting the right candidate—including providing access to a dedicated Cimatron seat. Signing & Retention Bonus: - $1,000 bonus after successful completion of 90 days - $2,000 bonus after 6 months of employment - $2,000 bonus after 1 year of employment Responsibilities & Tasks: - Review preliminary part models for tooling feasibility and recommend design improvements - Design complete injection molds to meet customer specifications and internal standards - Participate in and lead online 3D mold design reviews with customers - Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for all mold components - Generate material lists and support toolmakers with clear, accurate documentation - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as required Requirements: - Minimum 5 years of experience in mold design - Diploma in a CAD-related program (or currently pursuing) is considered an asset - Experience with CAD software such as Cimatron, VISI, Unigraphics (NX), or CATIA is an asset - Strong surfacing and 3D modeling skills - Solid understanding of mold design concepts and mold assemblies - Familiarity with CNC machining processes - Strong mathematical, communication, and English language skills - Familiar with Microsoft Office Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour Benefits: - Casual dress - Dental care - Extended health care - In office parking - Paid time off - RRSP match Experience: - Mold design: 5 years (required) Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o4sfl
