Senior Mechanical Engineer Oldcastle

Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to serve as a technical lead within our engineering organization. This role is accountable for delivering high-quality, manufacturable mechanical designs in support of machine tool and automation programs. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure engineering rigor, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet performance, cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and review of mechanical designs, including 3D models, detailed drawings, and assemblies using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Ensure design solutions meet customer requirements, internal quality standards, and manufacturing expectations. Provide Engineering deliverables, including layouts, detailed drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs). Drive material and component selection to optimize performance, reliability, and cost. Partner with manufacturing, assembly, and project teams to maintain design intent through execution. Provide technical direction, mentorship, and design governance to support best practices and continuous improvement. Qualifications & Experience Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 12+ years of mechanical design experience within automation or machine tool environments. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Solid knowledge of drafting standards, engineering best practices, and quality-driven design processes. Demonstrated ability to lead complex design efforts with minimal supervision. Willingness to travel within Canada and the United States as required. Experience with automotive powertrain systems, FEA, and GD&T; is a robust asset.
