'Junior Mechanical Designer' is an essential role at Eagle Press&Equipment, where you will contribute to the development of cutting‑edge stamping presses. Located in Canada, this position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team committed to innovation and excellence in manufacturing. Responsibilities
Design and model mechanical components and assemblies using Creo (Pro/E) Create detailed manufacturing drawings with full BOMs Apply GD&T, fits, and tolerances to real‑world parts Perform stress and deflection calculations (beam theory, first principles) Analyze kinematics&dynamics of crank, eccentric, and link‑driven presses Calculate torque requirements and assist in component selection (clutches, locking devices, etc.) Select materials and specify heat treatment requirements Design pneumatic schematics for press systems Work with Service to troubleshoot and improve designsSupport development of technical manuals and procedures Maintain engineering data using Excel&Access Participate in engineering meetings, project updates, and problem‑solving sessions What You Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) 1–3 years of experience (industrial machinery or metal forming is a big plus) Strong skills in:
Creo / ProE (3D modeling&assemblies) AutoCAD Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook)
Understanding of:
Machine design fundamentals Welding symbols&fabrication standards Basic metallurgy Hydraulics&pneumatics Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Solid math skills (algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics)
Self‑starter mindset — able to work independently and as part of a team What We're Looking For
