First Cook - Advanced First Aid (Thunder Bay)

MATRIX Camps, Logistics & Aviation is seeking experienced 1st Cooks with Advanced First Aid for rotational positions at remote camp locations across Canada. This role suits a selfmotivated, adaptable culinary professional who excels in a team workplace, maintains high standards of food quality and safety, and manages tasks with strong attention to detail and efficiency. Work is sitebased in remote camps with challenging weather conditions, and locations may change based on project requirements. Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including baked goods and desserts made from scratch Plan menus that meet resident client preferences and dietary / allergy requirements, and budgeted food costs Manage food inventory, ordering, storage, labeling, and FIFO rotation following Matrix food safety plan Train, support, and supervise kitchen staff while maintaining a safe, clean, and team-focused work environment Requirements Experience preparing meals for small and large groups in a remote camp kitchen setting Culinary Diploma or Red Seal Designation, Food Safe Handling Certificate, Advanced First Aid Certificate; required Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP procedures, and proper food storage practices Ability to lead, train, and coach kitchen staff when required Strong commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and teamwork Please note that references and a criminal record check is mandatory for this position.
