Location Markham, ON Job Type Part-time (Weekends + Optional Weekday Evenings) About Us We’re a small, close‑kissed art studio that loves what we do. Our classes are upbeat, encouraging, and full of energy — we care just as much about building kids’ confidence as we do about teaching solid art skills. Role We’re looking for an Art Instructor who can step into the classroom and make learning fun, engaging, and easy to understand. This role starts part‑time (mostly weekends, plus possible weekday evenings from 4–7PM), with room to grow into more hours and responsibilities. Responsibilities Teaching drawing and painting to kids of different ages Breaking down techniques into straightforward, clear steps kids can follow Creating a fun, relaxed, and encouraging class environment Helping plan lessons and camp activities Keeping the studio clean, organized, and well‑stocked Supporting our growing library of art projects Seasonal Commitment During summer break, March break, and winter break, we run full‑day art camps, and this role will include additional daytime camp hours during those periods. This position naturally shifts with the studio schedule throughout the year, offering more hours during school breaks and camps. Qualifications Solid in drawing and painting (you don’t have to be “fine art serious,” but you need solid skills) Great with kids — patient, friendly, and able to connect with different personalities Able to explain things simply and clearly Positive, energetic, and not afraid to be a little playful in class Highly punctual, reliable, and accountable — you show up on time, prepared, and ready to teach Comfortable working independently and running classes on your own when needed Organized and responsible behind the scenes Interested in growing with the studio over time Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) Teaching: 1year (preferred) Compensation Starting hourly rate (based on experience) with opportunity for more hours and increased pay as you grow into the role. Pay: $17.81–$25.00 per hour.
