Full-Time Direct Support Professional– Makada House Responsibilities
Locate appropriate services for clients according to their needs and preferences.
Interview clients to determine services needed and assess their suitability and eligibility for each program.
Determine if a client meets the eligibility requirements for social services programs and refer them to the proper agency if necessary.
Monitor time frames for services and document when goals are met.
Provide consistent, person-centered support in home and community settings.
Utilize ABA-informed and Trauma-Informed strategies to promote positive behavior and skill development.
Support emotional regulation and sensory-based coping strategies.
Encourage community inclusion, meaningful routines, and acceptance-focused goals.
Collaborate with clinical and support teams to implement individualized plans.
Qualifications
Class G Licence (required)
Developmental services diploma or related field of study (required)
CPR and First Aid Certification (required)
COVID-19 Vaccination (preferred)
Requirements
Developmental Service Worker Diploma or related field of study
Valid First Aid, CPR certificate, and Safe Management training
G Class Driver's License
Two-Step TB Test
ABA training is an asset
Experience with behavior is an asset or related experience
Preference will be given to individuals with experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
Work Hours The hours of work are scheduled 80 hours bi-weekly with the potential for additional shifts as they become available (Full-time).
