Estimator (Lively), Algoma, Sudbury District and Greater Sudbury (Chelmsford)

About the Role

Soluroc is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our Sudbury team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting our Solutions Team by developing accurate, competitive, and strategic cost estimates for bids and projects. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to build estimates that not only win business—but also protect profitability. Estimating&Costing

Prepare detailed cost estimates (materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors) Analyze drawings, specifications, and client requirements Apply consistent estimating methods to ensure accuracy and competitiveness Identify risks and incorporate contingencies into pricing Proposal Development

Support the preparation and submission of bids and proposals Develop clear cost breakdowns and supporting documentation Ensure alignment with company pricing strategies and profitability goals Collaboration&Communication

Work closely with Solutions, Engineering, and Operations teams Partner with Procurement to obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing Participate in client discussions, clarifications, and negotiations as needed Data&Reporting

Maintain cost databases, supplier rates, and historical project data Track estimate accuracy and bid success rates Continuously update cost models based on market trends Continuous Improvement

Recommend improvements to estimating tools and processes Stay current on industry pricing and market conditions Share knowledge and best practices across teams What You Bring

Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field 2–5 years of experience in estimating, costing, or similar role Strong understanding of labor, material, and subcontracting cost drivers Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Proficiency in Excel and estimating/ERP systemsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience in mining, construction, or industrial environments is an asset What Success Looks Like
